Honeywell Teams Up With Corteva Agriscience To Support Crop Protection Manufacturing

  • Corteva Agriscience to deploy automation solutions across select global crop protection manufacturing locations
  • Transformation program encompasses multiple projects over eight years, migrating nearly 50,000 input and output points

HOUSTON, November 30, 2021 -- Honeywell announced agricultural inputs leader Corteva Agriscience will deploy Honeywell’s Experion Process Knowledge System (PKS) as its chemical process control technology. The state-of-the-art batch solution is a valuable tool to further improve efficiency and cycle time and drive operational excellence.

This collaboration follows the successful design and engineering standards completed throughout 2021 on pilot Corteva locations. These projects are scheduled for start-up this year, with a further pilot underway and more scheduled for 2022. Standards developed for the pilots will enable multiple projects to be implemented concurrently in the future.

Honeywell will deploy hardware and software, including Experion Batch; its ControlEdge™ Unit Operations Controller (UOC), Safety Manager SC, Field Device manager and DynAMo alarm management. Honeywell is also providing configuration engineering, including batch engineering, system FAT/SAT (facility and site acceptance testing), commissioning and HMI graphics. They will also provide construction management and engineering for the full scope of certain projects. In total, this collaboration will cover numerous projects, migrating around 50,000 input and output points from previous process control systems to Experion PKS.

“This is an impactful program and a big win for Honeywell in agricultural sciences that will help contribute to food security of people around the world,” said Hank Wrenn, vice president and general manager, Global Projects and Automation Solutions at Honeywell Process Solutions. “The collaboration between Corteva Agriscience and Honeywell’s teams is essential to its success, and one that we expect will enhance the lives of people worldwide.”
